Caloundra Beach Queensland

We drove to Caloundra and stopped by a Park with picnic tables, view points and many trees and plants. Caloundra is a coastal town and the southernmost town in the Sunshine Coast Region in South East Queensland, Australia. Caloundra has a number of heritage-listed sites, including: Bowman Road: Tripcony Hibiscus Caravan Park 6 Arthur Street and 3 CanberraContinue reading “Caloundra Beach Queensland”

Wooli NSW

Wooli is practically an island – a three kilometre long finger of land surrounded by the Pacific on one side and the glorious Wooli Wooli River on the other. This is a beach town with saltwater in its veins. This section of coastline forms the northern sector of the Solitary Islands Marine Park which protectsContinue reading “Wooli NSW”

Sunrise Wooyung Beach

Wooyung Nature Reserve is a secluded coastal reserve close to Byron Bay offering a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. You’ll find a long stretch of deserted golden beach fringed by littoral rainforest and coastal wetlands. And best of all, you’ll probably have it all to yourself. ‘Wooyung’ means ‘slow’ in the local Bundjalung language,Continue reading “Sunrise Wooyung Beach”

Manly Queensland

Manly Boat Harbour is now the largest boat harbour facility in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 3,000 dry standings and wet berths, plus two public boat ramps (one at each end of the harbour).

A number of boating clubs are based in Manly including the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, the Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club, and the Darling Point Sailing Squadron (which shares space with the Multi-Hull Club of Australia, and the charity for handicapped people known as Sailability).

Surfers Paradise…Room with a view through Glass

I arrived at Nerang Station and waited for the bus to Surfers Paradise. It collects many tourists and the bus was full, standing room only. It stops at Surfers right opposite the Rail. I walked off the bus to the corner, and there was Shore Apartments on my left. I walked towards it along theContinue reading “Surfers Paradise…Room with a view through Glass”

Rocky Point Russell Island

The four Islands that make up the Southern Moreton Bay Islands are flood free, and we do not see those sort of floods that the rest of South East Queensland and Northern NSW experience. Naturally we get some overland water flow, but being small Islands, the water just runs off into the Bay with little effect on personal property.

These Islands are possibly one of the safest havens in South East Queensland, and remain undiscovered by a vast majority of Australians
