The Ancient Temples are wonderful constructions that used solid Tember with an intricate webbing interlock of the beams that used no nails and no permanent fixtures. This gave the beams room to expand and contract with the extremes of temperatures and were also steady and survived natural disasters such as earthquakes.
All edges and corners were decorated with Protector animals and birds whose role was to scare away eveil spirits and protect the building.
Insulation was provided with clay fillings and an intricate system of overlocking tiles which were waterproof as well as being avenues for drainage and decoration. Edges were often decorated with faces of protector animals.
